Watching Chanel Dupree in the Miss Continental 1990 pageant changed the course of this high-schooler's life.

Yet while medical researchers are still exploring the causes of transgender behavior, and activists are fighting for equal rights, it is troubling that within our community myth and misinformation is spreading (as fact) at an alarming rate.

He held his hand up to block the rays like a shield deflecting incoming arrows.  The drapes, he could see, were opulent: appropriate in the bed chamber of royalty.  Not that he actually knew what a royal bed chamber would look like, but he assumed this would be it.

After closing its twelve year run at the Nederlander Theater three years ago to become the ninth longest runnning show in Broadway history, RENT is back! The original show previously spawned three touring productions, a filmed live version and a feature film, begging the question is yet another production viable?

Hot on the heels of Fashion Week, the television stars were decked out for their red carpet walk at the Emmy Awards.  The en vogue colors seemed to be scarlet, blue, champagne and pink.

Despite Irene’s threat to party-crash, the event came off without a hitch. 

September 8th: The Legendary Lysinka to perform in the Bergdorf Goodman Windows for Fashion's Night Out 

I first saw Lypsinka when I reviewed her show LYPSINKA, AS I LAY LIP-SYNCHING!  I had heard of her, of course, but had never before seen her.  I was blown away:  she ws nothing like the blasse diva-in-her-own-mind-diva I had seen a hundred times. Lysinka was unique, different, and brillant.  

If you’re a fan of Judy Garland, then you know her work way beyond the rainbow.

The role of Dorothy might have made her a legend, but the cabaret career that followed made her an icon. And her daughter Liza’s career is no less legend, and her persona no less iconic than her mother’s.

As the Invasion gets another year older, celebrating its 35^th year, many of the onlookers that ventured out to see what the all the hubbub was about, weren’t even born when the first invasion took place.
