Is the reflection I see in the mirror who I am, or just the taxi that carries "me" around? As a TG journalist for a host of magazines I have explored this and many other ideas along the detour that has become my life. Being transgender is by far the most confused, conflicted, distracting and yet amazing journey I have ever encountered thus far.
Now that I am back in NYC I look forward to actively bringing new and exciting content to TGReporter.com

Lypsinka In The Window
September 8th: The Legendary Lysinka to perform in the Bergdorf Goodman Windows for Fashion's Night Out
I first saw Lypsinka when I reviewed her show LYPSINKA, AS I LAY LIP-SYNCHING! I had heard of her, of course, but had never before seen her. I was blown away: she ws nothing like the blasse diva-in-her-own-mind-diva I had seen a hundred times. Lysinka was unique, different, and brillant.
Judy & Liza Together Again!
If you’re a fan of Judy Garland, then you know her work way beyond the rainbow.
The role of Dorothy might have made her a legend, but the cabaret career that followed made her an icon. And her daughter Liza’s career is no less legend, and her persona no less iconic than her mother’s.
As the Invasion gets another year older, celebrating its 35th year, many of the onlookers that ventured out to see what the all the hubbub was about, weren’t even born when the first invasion took place.
Recording Artist, Model, Painter, and Actress
Model, Actress, Wife, and Pedro Almodovar's favorite transsexual.
Bibiana Fernandez, aka Bibi Anderson, is Spains´most famous transsexual model, and can been seen Pedro Almodovar's filmHigh Heels , Bibi is statuesque and fabulous. The dance number in the open yard of a prison scene is priceless.
In our spotlight is Christine Jorgenson, a true pioneer in the world of sexual reassignment surgery. She had undergone this procedure during a time long before such a thing would have been considered to be safe or acceptable.
Without question Christine Jorgenson's most significant contribution to vaginoplasty surgery was making the procedure commonly known to the public. Accounts of sexual reassignments in Europe had been occasionally published in journals and popular magazines but only a handful of transsexuals such as Jorgenson were able to sift through more arcane medical reports, make their way overseas and somehow attain surgery.
They told her that a transsexual could never win EuroVision. She proved them wrong, and did so in a Bob Mackay gown!
Born Yaron Cohen in Tel Aviv, Israel in 1972, he was fascinated with the stage from an early age and later dreamed of performing at the Eurovision Music Contest, a huge event in Europe. He began performing in drag throughout the gay club circuit as a singer and his sound quickly found an audience and a career was born.
In 1993 Yaron secretly flew to London to under go SRS and returned as Sharon Cohen. She released her first album that year, which went gold. In her first attempt to win the Israeli spot in the Eurovison she came in second, and friends told her that a transsexual could never be chosen. Several albums later she attempted again and in 1998 won the spot to compete. She represented Israel with style and pride, and brought home the coveted first prize, singing her hit song, appropriately named 'Diva."
In winning Eurovision Dana also secured her country the right to host the next festival, which would generate millions of dollars. The Orthodox Jewish community in Israel was so horrified that a transsexual represented their country that they wanted Israel to forgo their right to host the next festival in a denouncement of Dana.
Personally, I think they were just jealous that they couldn't wear the Bob Mackay gown as well as she did.
Dana is great, check out her music via the link in the photo gallery of Dana here
